As some of you may know, our friends' newborn child was recently diagnosed with a very rare disease (less than 20 documented cases in the world). In response to inquiries as to what we could do, two ways were suggested: Give blood & donate to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. With that, I'm requesting my 4 to 5 loyal readers either to give blood or make an Online Donations or both.

My favorite books often deal with those at the fringes of society. Peter Darbyshire, Thom Jones, George Saunders and Raymond Carver. My first taste of Denis Johnson was Jesus' Son, which I throughly enjoyed. While I haven't gone back ro the Denis Johnson well since Jesus' Son, I now have reason to.
