Well, I've recovered from vacation. I read three books on the beach. My favorite was Please: A Novel, which reminded me alot of Jesus' Son: Stories by by Denis Johnson. I also read The Beach by Alex Garland, which was pretty good. A modern day Lord of the Flies, if you will. And finally, Company: A Novel by Max Barry, which had it's moments, but wasn't my favorite. So it's back to Underworld: A Novel by Don DeLillo, which I'm about 1/2 through, but is difficult to find the large blocks of time needed to finish it off.

Despite what you might think, the doctor has confirmed there is nothing wrong with my brain. Now if I can just track down my jr. high school french teacher, I'd like to set her straight on a few things.
