This probably doesn't mean much to some of you, but I watched A History of Violence (2005) tonight and saw a guy actually get his nose pushed into his f***ing brain.

If Rummy is micromanaging the general officer corps of the Army, then he should resign and let the professionals clean this mess up. But that's really only a minor issue.
The Department of Defense has been set up as the only institution of government that is capable of executing any policy. Homeland security, State and Justice are underfunded. When Katrina struck, everything was in chaos until you saw the military convoys heading into New Orleans and a three-star general take-over the rescue efforts, followed by a three-star vice admiral of the Coast Guard take-over for that Brownie guy at FEMA.
If you are going to govern through the military, then why the illusion? Let's get rid of all the civilians.
Rumsfeld sucks, but my next round of public criticism will be at Dubya himself.
